You're busy.
Here's the first 20 seconds of each chart available in this Sampler.
I spent three decades directing the jazz ensembles at New Trier High School (Winnetka, Illinois), with a prior six years at Lakewood High School (Lakewood, Ohio). The 90-minute each-way commutes, marching band duties in Lakewood, my children's travel sports and concerts, etc. ... I was left with no time to organize my many arrangements and compositions so I could make them available to others.
RETIREMENT CHANGED ALL THAT!
On this website I’ve recently collected the pieces I could locate of the 75 arrangements and compositions I've done over the years for college, high school, and middle school jazz ensembles, marching bands and concert bands. (More will be added as they are digitized.) Most of the jazz charts have MP3 recordings of a rhythm section playing the solo backgrounds for students to practice their soloing at home. Much of this music has been used by the sixteen All-State and many All-District bands that I've directed, and every chart is performance-tested!
All of the music on my website is available for $40 to receive a DROPBOX folder
to download PDFs of the score and parts.
Also... with the help of AI, I've developed a "Jazz Chart Searcher"- which is a copyrighted database featuring over 9,500 currently published jazz ensemble charts from twenty-nine global jazz music publishers with twn sortable/searchable fields. (Title- linked to the publishers purchase page, arranger, composer, publisher, difficulty, style, tempo, duration, price and year published.)
A smart-phone app is also available.
This is exactly what new jazz band directors need.
The Searchere will be updated the first of each month to ensure you have the latest releases at your fingertips. Hint... there is GREAT music being published outside the USA that you will find quite creative.
From your students, their parents, and me... THANK YOU for all you do to inspire young people
to perform and appreciate music.
Enjoy every opportunity to teach and make a difference while it lasts.
The next batch of charts will be added as soon as they are digitized to add to the twenty-nine selections already on this website for immediate delivery...
